Recent Projects

There are no cookie-cutter solutions at Webfulness. Each project is totally unique.
Here are some recent examples:

Websites for Small Business

idigapps.com

Context: Brand new website needed for an iPhone App startup. Needed to be simple, playful, and fully branded.

Solution: Using WordPress, the open-source CMS and blogging tool, a simple site was created. Webfulness also trained iDigApps CEO, Cyndie Siegel, on how to use WordPress to update site content as well as the blog.

patthai.net

Context: For many years, Jerry had been actively maintaining a single HTML Web page for his Pat Thai restaurant. Recently, he decided it was time to create a more professional Web presence by rebuilding the site from the ground up with the help of an expert Web designer / developer.

Solution: Since Jerry is Internet savvy and knew almost exactly what he wanted, Webfulness was able to focus almost exclusively on the technical end of his new site. Webfulness chose to use the Joomla! CMS to build the new site so that Jerry could continue to maintain its content once the basic infrastructure was in place.

lost-h-bomb.com

Context: The producer of a niche DVD needed a one page site with a single goal - to get visitors to click the Buy button.

Solution: Webfulness paid a lot of attention to detail and worked to create an eye-catching site with graphics and video that would grab the attention of visitors and keep them focused on the opportunity to buy the DVD.

erinbarryyoga.com

Context: Erin, a certified Yoga instructor, knew she had delayed the decision to build her own website long enough. She came to Webfulness with a mental picture of what she wanted and asked to be guided through the process of implementing her vision.

Solution: Fortunately, Webfulness has a lot of experience with this particular type of "practitioner site" and so it was easy to guide Erin to a solution. Together, Webfulness and Erin chose both the look-and-feel and the overall structure for the new site. Erin then wrote the copy, Webfulness assisted with the editing and formatting, and within a few days, the majority of the site was up and running.

docskitchen.com

Context: "Doc" Richard, owner of the newly established Doc's Kitchen, looked to Webfulness for complete guidance on a website for his new restaurant.

Solution: Webfulness interviewed Richard regarding the key aspects of the restaurant so they could be highlighted right on the home page. Then, Webfulness took the reigns and built the entire site from scratch, leaving Richard to focus on running his business.

Internet Marketing

traceystephens.com

Context: Tracey, an interior designer, approached Webfulness with a fully functional and visually stunning website that had been serving her well for many years. Plus, she had a great relationship with her current Web designer. What she wanted was simple: more traffic.

Solution: Webfulness evaluated Tracey's site and educated her on general SEO (search engine optimization) techniques that she could implement with the help of her current Web designer. Webfulness then provided Tracey with a comprehensive list of actionable items that she could work into the site at her own pace.

arnauddesjardinsdvds.com

Context: The international team behind this newly launched e-commerce site came to Webfulness with the broad intention of "getting the word out there".

Solution: Webfulness consulted one-on-one with the team's local point person to design a set of solutions including: adjustments to the site content & structure to be more search engine friendly; a YouTube video campaign; link exchanges with several top-ranking sites; a Google AdWords PPC (pay per click) online advertising campaign.

prbeachrentals.com

Context: The owner of 5 beach rental condos in Puerto Rico needed improvements to his existing Web site as well as a plan to drive more leads to the site in order to weather the recent recession.

Solution: Together, we enhanced the site with videos, streamlined the contact process, reworked the site to be more accessible on mobile devices, and optimizing the content and code to be more search-engine friendly. We then began a successful Google AdWords campaign that has saved his business and has kept his occupancy rate at 80%.

jessicarasp.com

Context: When Jessica Rasp, a meditation teacher, approached Webfulness, she had long since left her original Web designer and had been struggling to maintain the site on her own. She needed help tying up loose ends, learning how to optimize her content for search engines, and finding ways to more easily maintain the site.

Solution: Webfulness quickly cleaned up Jessica's existing site template and content. Then, Jessica was trained on Wordpress, the system that powers her site, so that she could easily update the site on an on-going basis.

Large-scale Custom Web Development

vitals.com

Context: For vitals.com, Webfulness was hired to design and build a LAMP-based infrastructure and Web application for a large-scale health-care portal.

Solution: After evaluating open-source systems such as Drupal, Webfulness decided to build a custom PHP framework/application that could easily be fine-tuned for the vitals.com portal. The framework included advanced AJAX and Web 2.0 functionality through integration with the YUI Library. Eventually, Webfulness helped shift all site responsibilities to an in-house development team. Today, vitals.com receives over 3 million visits per month.

agreatertown.com

Context: The vision for agreatertown.com—a local-to-global community-based Web portal—has been unfolding organically since 2007. Webfulness not only planted the seeds for the original vision, but was hired as a core part of the start-up team to implement the site and consult on direction and strategy.

Solution: The implementation of agreatertown.com has been a successful exercise in agile Web development. The site is built using a custom LAMP-based infrastructure and includes integration with many key Google technologies including Google Base, Analytics, AdWords, Google Maps, and Google Search. Advanced SEO techniques have resulted in 100K+ indexed pages on Google.

karma-lab.com/forums

Context: Stephen Kay, the operator of music software site karma-lab.com, hired Webfulness to implement a customized vBulletin forum in order to community-enable his existing website.

Solution: Webfulness worked closely with Stephen on both the technical aspects of configuring and customizing the forum software as well as on the softer aspects such as organizing the user interface and moderating the forum. Webfulness also trained Stephen in all aspects of the software so that he could maintain the site on his own. Today, the forum supports a thriving online community with 5K+ members and 83K+ posts.
